Disney Names New Animal Kingdom VP - again!

1/25/10 Just six months into the job, Kevin Lansberry is out as Vice President in charge of Animal Kingdom. Lansberry will be replace by Michael Colglazier, who had been in business development and strategic planning.

Lansberry had too short a time on the Animal Kingdom job to accomplish much. About the only things new during his tenure were the centralized FASTPASS experiment over the summer of 2009, and the "reserved" seating for Finding Nemo: The Musical for Tusker House diners. Lansberry has been named Senior Vice President for Worldwide Travel Operations, where he will oversee the reservations system for Disney theme parks across the globe.

Hopefully Colglazier's past experience in a forward-thinking post indicates that the Animal Kingdom may be next for some significant additions. The park has not seen anything really new in three years, while Epcot and Hollywood Studios have received a lot of attention, addition, and sprucing.

An interesting side note: Colgazier's name is on the Disney patent application for Photopass.
